The Tools Used to Make Heroes of the Storm Now Free

by - 10 years ago

The Arcade is a spawn of what we all know from Warcraft 3 and the original Starcraft as the custom map editor. That editor helped people create a well known game named D.O.T.A. (Defense of the Ancients) and the beloved genre of Tower Defense (and much much more). While this isn’t news pertaining strictly to Heroes of the Storm, Heroes is created with these very tools. They want to make a game that really shows off its potential.

Blizzard takes it to the next level with their hilarious launch video calling out for people to be unique snowflakes. If they can create something like Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft II with this engine, then if you put your mind to it, you can create a truly epic experience for others to enjoy.

Now that the arcade is free and separate from Starcraft II, it will be much easier to talk your friends into joining you for some Mafia or Nexus Wars in the “Blizzard Arcade”.
