Heroes

  • Anub’arak (Warcraft Universe): Anub’arak’s addition makes a lot of sense, as he was a hero unit in WC3 and was consequently one of the prominent units in Dota. The brief glimpses of his abilities in the video show him burrowing to move around the map, as well as having some damage mitigation, area damage and add-spawning.
  • Chen Stormstout (Warcraft Universe): Chen was previewed at Chinajoy some time ago, but it’s fun to see his abilities in action. Step back to our original coverage for some more information on his powers.
  • Azmodan (Diablo Universe): Unlike Chen and Anub’arak’s WC3-alum status, Azmodan is a true newcomer to the scene. In terms of pulling out notable and unique characters from D3, Azmodan is a solid choice, and his abilities make it seem like he’ll be a gamechanger on the field.

Some screenshots of these heroes in action, as well as captures of their abilities, talents, and profiles, can be found on the great miracle that is Imgur:

Battlegrounds

While we did some coverage of Garden of Terror when it was first revealed, this may be the first chance for some people to see it outside of the alpha. The video doesn’t really show much in that respect, but Garden of Terror is given the same screentime as the other four battlegrounds, which certainly shows that Team 1 is committed to seeing people dig into it. That said, when you see all of the battlegrounds lined up one after the other, there’s a sense that they might all have similar elements with only nuances to differentiate them. Anyone who actually PLAYS on the maps will know that each map has drastic differences in strategy and scope, but all the video can really showcase is the visual aesthetic of the maps instead of their mechanics.

Stay tuned to BlizzPro for more information and analysis in the coming days, and expect Hero Pages for the new heroes soon.
