Kael’thas Hero Trailer and More

by - 9 years ago

It’s looking more and more likely we’ll be seeing a Heroes of the Storm patch next week along with new hero Kael’thas. This will be a full week before the game enters open beta and we’re getting more details about Kael’thas.

Today Blizzard released his video trailer:

We also got some information about his ultimate abilities Phoenix and Pyroblast.

Pyroblast: After a short delay, cast a slow-moving fireball that deals massive damage to an enemy, and medium damage to enemies near the target.

Evidently this thing moved VERY slowly but is super scary to see coming. It’s one of those ultimates that is probably easy to avoid but if you have a team fight going and are able to stun your opponents when this is popped off you could very easily have team kill on your hands.

Phoenix: Launch Phoenix to target area, dealing damage to enemies along the way. The Phoenix persists, attacking enemies, and dealing splash damage to those near it’s primary attack target.

This ultimate sounds more like something you would do to harass. Say the other team is suspected to be on boss or trying to take an objective in the map. This is something you would probably cast to ruin those plans. Could work very well with Tyrande’s owls or anything else that helps give you vision in what the other team is doing. Could also be beneficial if you’re coming back from being dead and your team is involved in a team fight to immediately help them out.

I think we’re going to see a lot of Kael’thas getting played and it sounds like he could even be a top tier hero. If his burst damage is high enough you might see him and Jaina fighting side by side with the whole frost fire combo going on.

Are you excited about Kael’thas? Let us know in the comments.
