The Heroes team has released a new Facebook app, encouraging social media users to participate in order to claim an in-game reward: the Mechanostriderspider.

To get hold of this clicking, whirring death machine, simply click here and hit ‘Create a team’. Authorise the app, then select Facebook friends to make up your five-strong team. After that comes the fun part: assigning traits. These include Bouncy Ball (‘Never low on energy’), Harlequin (‘Has a very colourful wardrobe’) and Ninja (‘Always lurking in the shadows’).

After traits are assigned, it’s time to create your team. Hit the button and the combination of traits (each ‘player’ has two) will result in a different hero. I got Illidan (Vengeful and Bouncy Ball), Tyrande (Swiss Army Knife and Night Owl), Arthas (Eternal Optimist and Bodyguard), Lili (Troublemaker and Daredevil) and Falstad (Harlequin and GPS).

That’s all there is to it – just log in to Battle.net straight from the Facebook app and you’ll automatically claim your (free!) reward.
