Heroes of the Dorm Down To Heroic Four

by - 8 years ago

Heroes of the Dorm began with over 400 teams, but now only the Heroic Four remain.

Arizona State University (Real Dream Team), University of Connecticut (Tricky Turtles), University of Texas – Arlington (Dark Blaze), and University of Tennessee (We Volin) have all punched their tickets to Seattle, Washington. The stage is set for an epic finale April 9th and 10th at the Centurylink Field Event Center.

While there were plenty of great games and more than a few upsets during bracket play, three of the four number 1 seeds ended up advancing. Tennessee was the only team not seeded number 1 to survive to the Heroic Four, but as a number 2 seed it was certainly no surprise to see them earn a spot.

ASU and UCONN both cruised thru bracket play, winning all three of their matches by a score of 2-0. UT Arlington advanced thru the first two rounds undefeated, but were put to the test in the Epic Eight after losing game one to Boston College. They were able to regroup though, and won the next two games to advance. Tennessee swept their first round opponent, but were taken to game three in their next two matches.

All four of these teams are powerhouses, three of the four teams have pro players on their rosters. ASU advanced to the Finals last year and are considered the favorites in the minds of most people, but any of these teams is more than capable of claiming the title.

Check back for a more in depth preview as we get closer to the event.
