Patch Notes TLDR: Questing Talents

by - 8 years ago

One of the more interesting changes coming in the next patch, scheduled to be released on March 29th, is the introduction of what is being called Questing Talents.

These are level one Talents that provide an additional benefit (reward) once a certain requirement (quest) has been completed. This additional reward is permanent and persists thru death, so Questing Talents have the potential to provide a major power spike if they are achieved early. Three Heroes are receiving Questing Talents in this patch and each has a unique requirement and reward.

The viability of these Talents will likely be map dependent. While there are baseline benefits to these Talents, the real pay off come from the quest reward. These Talents are less desirable if you are unable to unlock the bonus, or if it happens too late in the game to have an impact, so keep that in mind when considering them.

Be prepared for an eventual power spike when you are facing an opponent who has selected one of these Talents. At the moment I don’t believe there is a way to track an enemy’s quest progress, but something like that to be added if this type of Talent becomes more prevalent.

I can’t wait to see how these Talents play out once they go live. It seems like a compelling mechanic that rewards skilled play, so hopefully other Heroes receive Questing Talents in the future.
