The Heroes of the Storm Summer Championship is underway, and a new Watch Live feature has been added to the game client. Upon logging in you will be greeted by the following new splash screen:

Simply click the Watch LIVE! button in the bottom left hand corner and a tab will open displaying the current Heroes Global Championship Twitch broadcasts. From there, select the stream for your language of choice and enjoy all of the sweet Heroes action.

If you would like to take advantage of this feature, be quick about it. After a few moments the splash screen will revert back to the standard Chromie artwork. If you miss the new eSports screen just be patient. Every few seconds the splash screen will alternate between these two options. Keep in mind that this new screen will only be visible when there is an event being broadcast.

As crazy as this may sound to some, there is a large portion of the player base who just open the launcher and play the game. They don’t watch Twitch streams, they don’t visit reddit, they don’t know that Cloud9 just disbanded. In fact, they may not even know that eSports exist. Having events promoted in game is a great quality of life feature that will draw a whole new group of viewers to Heroes eSports. Well done Blizzard!
