The Machines of War event is set to begin in less than a month, and with it will come a wealth of new content. In addition to new Heroes, new Maps, and new skins, this event will also include a new daily quest.

Starcraft 2 players will remember the Xel’Naga Artifact, which they were able to reassemble once they collected various pieces. Well, it has made it’s way into the Nexus, but it has been broken again (my money is on Tychus, he’s the reason we can’t have nice things).

During the Machines of War event, players will get a daily quest to collect artifacts. Artifact pieces will have a chance to spawn at the beginning of each game. Players will need to collect these pieces in order to complete their quest. It isn’t that simple however. SCVs also have a chance to spawn at the beginning of each game, and these SCVs will also attempt to collect the fragments. Players will either need to be faster than the SCVs or destroy them in order to collect the fragments.
