Fantasy Sports Comes To Heroes Of The Storm

by - 7 years ago

Once an obscure hobby of stat driven baseball nerds, fantasy sports have become a global phenomenon. Whether it is managing a season long fantasy team, playing daily fantasy, or creating a March Madness bracket, it seems as if everyone is playing some type of fantasy sport. Being able to compete with friends and have a vested interest in the outcome gives fantasy sports an appeal that transcends beyond traditional sports fans.

With the start of the Heroes Global Championship right around the corner, a new website hopes to bring this same level of fan interaction to Heroes of the Storm. Much like traditional fantasy sports, Rosterpocalypse.com allows fans to test their managerial skills and create their own Heroes Dream Team. Aspiring managers can compete in public leagues in hopes of earning prizes like Heroes Bundles or Battlenet gift cards or they can create and join private leagues to compete with friends.

Keep in mind that Rosterpocalypse is a third-party site and in no way officially affiliated with Blizzard or the HGC. While you can create an account by connecting your Twitter, Facebook, or Battlenet accounts, it is probably safer to sign up directly with the website rather than grant access to existing accounts. With that disclaimer out-of-the-way, this certainly seems like a cool way to generate extra interest in the HGC.

The community seems very excited about this concept, and we here at Blizzpro are no different so we have created our own private leagues. If you would like to make a team and compete against your favorite Blizzpro contributors you can find our leagues here:

If proving to DJTyrant that you know how to “stay tight” isn’t enough motivation, the highest scoring fan team in each region will win a $20 Battlenet gift card so create a team for each region and join the fun. You can also join us on Discord if you want to brag about your team or just find more friends who love Blizzard games.

The new and improved HGC starts this Friday so why not draft a team and play along?
