A New Way To Cheer For Your Favorite Team

by - 7 years ago

Team specific in-game items have long been on the wishlist for many fans of competitive Heroes of the Storm. Recently, team-specific items have been spotted in AI games, leading to increased speculation that these items would soon become available. That speculation was validated today with the introduction of the HGC Cheer program.

Fans can now use Twitch Bits to Cheer for their favorite teams and earn team-specific items within Heroes of the Storm. While details of the program are still vague at this point, we do know that fans can start unlocking items for a specific team once they reach 100 Bits Cheered, which is the equivalent of $1.40 (or less depending on the Cheers bundle you buy). In addition to team-specific items like Banners, Sprays, and Badges, fans will also earn team-agnostic items like Loot Chests, Mounts, and Emotes. Items are not just unlocked based on individual Cheers, additional items will also be unlocked when the community hits certain global Cheering milestones. A portion of the revenue from the Cheered Bits will go to the HGC team receiving the Cheer.

This new program will go live on August 1 and will be available for the Eastern and Western Clashes. You can read more about this exciting new program in the official blog from Blizzard.
