Storm Watch: Arthas

Hello guys! I am starting a weekly article every Friday that covers the known playable heroes for Heroes of the Storm, with the first being a fan favorite, Arthas. With these weekly articles I will also be going over a little bit of backstory for each character I cover for all you folks who may not be familiar with Blizzard’s Universes. Alright so lets see how Arthas will effect the battlefield! Backstory Arthas Menethil was the son of Terenas Menethil II, King of Lordaeron and was the Prince of Lordaeron and Knight of the Silver Hand led by Uther the Lightbringer. He was trained as a paladin by Uther. Even though he was a promising knight, he went down a path of vengeance which ultimately lead to what you see him as in Heroes of the Storm. Thoughts on the Heroes I played at Blizzcon

While at Blizzcon I had a chance to play Heroes a few times. I played three live games against other players and two bot games against very easy bots on the press computers upstairs. I will get into the Heroes I played, how I felt about their abilities, and overall impressions. VS real people Valla – Demon Hunter (Assassin) Demonhunter is one of my favorite classes from Diablo III (Monk #1) so I was pretty excited to try out the AD carry-esc type hero in Heroes. Sadly she felt really slow compared to how quick she feels in Diablo III. Every time a talent came up I would pick up attack speed to make her feel more quick in that regard; but I still felt slow at moving and unable to buy something like boots. If you didn’t get the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket or the opportunity to travel out to Anaheim for BlizzCon, you’ve probably missed out on a lot of delicious information about Blizzard’s upcoming character brawler, Heroes of the Storm. While the initial panel told us a lot, Saturday’s Deep Dive panel offered more in-depth detail on the characters we can expect, along with some of their ability sets. Stitches, Jim Raynor and Tyrael all had their abilities broken down and we learned about their unique roles and correlating team fight potential. Stitches Intended or otherwise, Stitches will function in a fairly similar fashion to his DotA equivalent, Pudge. His signature hook ability will allow him to pull in an opposing hero, either preventing escape, or beginning a team fight in a very promising manner, separating one opponent from the rest of his or her team.
