Raynor and Azmodan Reworks Spotlighted in New Videos

by - 6 years ago

It appears as if we will be getting two more Hero reworks in the month of July.

Two Spotlight Videos released earlier today gave us our first look at the upcoming reworks for Raynor and Azmodan.

Raynor appears to be keeping his niche as an auto-attack focused sustain DPS Hero just with a few tricks added. Here is a quick look at some of the changes that were unveiled:

  • Adrenaline Rush (E) will become an activatable ability with a longer cooldown, finally giving Raynor players a third button to press.
  • Raynor’s Raiders (R2) will now only summon one controllable Banshee to fight alongside of Raynor but that Banshee will permanent. If it is destroyed in battle it will return a short time later.
  • Jimmy is getting a new Trait, Acquire Weak Spot (D), that combines the increased range of his old Trait with a new splash damage bonus to every fourth auto-attack. Several new Talents have also been added to enhance this new Trait.

Azmodan’s changes are described as “small but meaningful” in the video. Stacking will still be a big part of his gameplay but after the rework, he will have more ways to build those stacks. Here are some of the changes discussed in the video:

  • Sieging Wrath and Taste for Blood, currently Level 1 Talents, are being combined and baked into Azmodan’s base kit. Azmodan players can now build stacks by killing Minions or by hitting Heroes with Globe of Annihilation (Q). To offset some of the power of this change, the impact circle of Globe of Annihilation will be visible to enemy players sooner.
  • Two new Level 1 Talents have been added to allow players to gain extra stacks from Globe of Annihilation.
  • Summon Demon Warrior (W) will now only summon one Demon Warrior but Azmodan’s Minions will have increased Health and deal constant AOE damage. A Level 4 Talent, Army of Hell, will allow players to summon a second Demon Warrior but it increased the cooldown of the ability.
  • All Shall Burn (E) now has a set channeling time and will do bonus damage upon completion of the cast.
  • A new Heroic has been added named Tide of Sin (R2). When activated, this Talent removes the Mana cost from the next Globe of Annihilation and increases its damage by 50%.

With the next season of Ranked Play scheduled to begin the week of July 9th, there is a good chance we will see these reworks rolled out next week. Otherwise, it will likely be towards the end of July before we see them.

Hit us up in the comments section or on Twitter to let us know what you think about these changes and which rework you are most excited about. For me, it is my man Raynor.

The Patriot Raynor skin was the first thing I bought after getting into the Alpha and he has had a soft spot in my heart ever since.
