Storm Watch: Illidan Stormrage

by Hotstreak on

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks Storm Watch where we will be going over the quick assassin Illidan Stormrage. Illidan has very good mobility and aims to get in, down his opponent fast, and get out while applying his passive to further increase his effectiveness. Illidan also relies heavily on Mark of Azzinoth to be able to use the rest of his skills to their fullest potential. Back Story Illidan Stormrage. The Betrayer. Born during the height of Night Elf civilization, Illidan hungered for many things: to be the equal of his twin brother, Malfurion; to hold close the one woman he loved, Tyrande; but most of all, Illidan hungered for power. His potential was so great that the Dark Titan Sargeras himself burned out Illidan’s eyes and gifted him the ability to see all forms of magic, knowing he would be a powerful servant. But Illidan, having already ...

Storm Watch: Tassadar

by Hotstreak on

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks Storm Watch where we will be going over the famous Starcraft character Tassadar. This hero is all about aggressively supporting your team and making sure nobody dies. I am pretty sure that you can’t be any more of a support than Tassadar, lets take a look. Back Story “Aldaris, I submit myself to the Conclave’s judgment. But know this, given the same choices again, I would surely have made them. I have sacrificed all that our world might live. I have sullied my honor, I have discarded my rank and standing, and I have even broken our own most ancient traditions. But never think that I would, for one moment, regret my actions. For I am Templar, and above all else, I have sworn to protect our homeworld ’till the end.” Once branded a heretic by the ruling body of the Protoss known ...

Today was the 2nd Live Q&A hosted by Blizzard allowing fans to tweet them questions about Heroes of the Storm. You can watch the whole thing here. Watch live video from Heroes of the Storm on TwitchTV This Q&A featured Kevin Johnson (Community Manager), Kaeo Milker (Senior Game Producer), and Dustin Browder (Game Director), followed by a live match shoutcasted by Sean Plott (Day) alongside Mr. Browder. Much like the issues most people shoutcasting the game currently, Day went in blind not knowing most of what is happening and asked questions to Dustin that really helped clarify what is happening. But first the Wrap up! Right now the teams are currently working on: Internal Alpha Stage Art passes Going over everything again with art and colors User XP / User testing Hero design More Heroes like Abathur, commander-types. Heroes that play in fundamentally different ways. Click the question link to ...

The Arcade is a spawn of what we all know from Warcraft 3 and the original Starcraft as the custom map editor. That editor helped people create a well known game named D.O.T.A. (Defense of the Ancients) and the beloved genre of Tower Defense (and much much more). While this isn’t news pertaining strictly to Heroes of the Storm, Heroes is created with these very tools. They want to make a game that really shows off its potential. Blizzard takes it to the next level with their hilarious launch video calling out for people to be unique snowflakes. If they can create something like Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft II with this engine, then if you put your mind to it, you can create a truly epic experience for others to enjoy. Now that the arcade is free and separate from Starcraft II, it will be much easier to ...

If you can’t get enough Heroes of the Storm, never fear, a second Q&A session will soon be upon us. Blizzard announced earlier today that two days from the time of this posting Game Director Dustin Browder, Senior Game Producer Kaeo Milker and Senior Manager of Community Development Kevin Johnson will once more take to Twitch in order to answer your questions about the upcoming character brawler.  The Q&A will take place at 11 AM PST and the gang will be answering questions tweeted to the @BlizzHeroes Twitter account. If you want to have a shot at seeing your name on screen, ask them a question using the #HeroesQA hashtag. After the Q&A, Day will be joining Dustin Browder to cast a live on-stream Heroes of the Storm dev match, so be sure to tune in for what should be a fun afternoon. It’s been a few weeks since our first Live Q&A ...

Storm Watch: Tyrael

by Hotstreak on

Hello guys, welcome to this weeks Storm Watch where I will be going over the Archangel of Wisdom Tyrael. Tyrael is a hybrid character that can tank, support, initiate, and deal damage. He is definitely the most unique and versatile character that we have gone over so far. Back Story Tyrael. Member of the Angiris Council. Archangel of Justice. Fallen Angel. Tyrael has fought on the side of the Light against the forces of Hell for time immemorial. For countless eons Tyrael thought the only principles of justice were the laws of the High Heavens. This view of Creation was shattered once he encountered the denizens of Sanctuary, humans. Humans were the spawn of rogue angels and demons who had become weary of the endless Eternal Conflict that consumed all of the focus of both Heaven and Hell. While at first many angels saw humanity as an abomination, Tyrael saw ...

Storm Watch: Uther

by Taffer on

Welcome to this weeks Storm Watch where we will be going over Uther the Lightbringer. Uther is a support character that will focus on keeping his team mates alive and if the game play videos are indicative of how he will be, then he also has an emphasis on never dying. Back Story Even at a young age, the boy who would become Uther the Lightbringer was on the path to become a great hero of the Alliance. Raised and mentored the Church of the Light, it was Uther who rallied the Alliance during the Second War against the Horde. Despite the victory, the fall of Stormwind to the orcs led the leaders of the Church to realize that its paladins, while powerful, needed to be organized into an actual fighting force. Thus Uther was annointed as the first Knight of the Silver Hand and was placed as the organization’s ...
