Interview with Dustin Browder and Phil Gonzales, Brightwing and Lili Stormstout Available Tuesday

by - 10 years ago

It looks like we won’t have to wait very long to try out two of the new heroes announced at PAX East. Senior Artist Phill Gonzales confirmed in an exclusive interview with BlizzPro that both Lili Stormstout and Brightwing will be available after accounts are wiped on Tuesday, April 15th. That interview can be watched below.

If you’re in the alpha, you’ll have immediate access to Lili and Brightwing free of charge as all heroes will be unlocked through Thursday, April 17th. Blizzard is also awarding bonus gold (and possibly an awesome lanyard) based on your account level, meaning that everyone should have enough gold to purchase at least one of the two new heroes if they feel so inclined. Individuals with an account level 20 or higher will be able to purchase both, at least at current hero rates.

Brightwing will feature a Monarch skin. No word on price yet.

Lili is described as being an easy to play, powerful support option. According to the blog put out by Blizzard, she will not require a babysitter and should have great impact on team fights. Brightwing is a high mobility menace that can passively heal allies, teleport around the map and even turn opposing heroes into critters. Releasing these two heroes into the existing pool should definitely shake up the support paradigm and possibly even convince people that they don’t all want to play assassins.

Zagara and Murky were also announced, but thus far there’s been no word on when they’ll be available to those in the technical alpha.

Also of note, it was confirmed during the interview that there will be no beta keys for Heroes of the Storm. Blizzard enjoys the security and lack of issue that comes with opt-ins and will use that method going forward. If you want into the game and for some reason have not opted in, be sure to do.
